Intermediate classes

Dutch intermediate group courses are offered at three levels:

Intermediate 1 (B1.1)

In the Intermediate 1 Course you will learn:

  • to do a job interview

  • to write a personal email

  • to book a holiday (hotel, Airbnb, flight tickets etc.)

  • to participate in discussions about topics from everyday life

  • to give a short presentation about a concrete topic

  • to write a letter of complaint

  • to understand most of the topics in a tv program

  • to express your feelings and react appropriately to other people’s feelings

  • to write a short text about your holidays

Intermediate 2 (B1.2)

In the Intermediate 2 Course you will learn:

  • to understand the weather forecast on the radio and tv

  • to talk about what makes you happy

  • to give your and ask someone’s opinion about a social or personal topic that is related to your own interests, like education, politics, relationships, etc.

  • to write a short text about the time in school when you were a teenager

  • to understand all topics in a tv program regarding a social topic

  • to talk about differences in cultures

  • to have a discussion in which you express whether you agree and disagree with someone or something and why that is

  • to give a short presentation about your time in the Netherlands

  • to write a short text in which you express your opinion regarding Dutch culture

Intermediate 3 (B1.3)

In the Intermediate 3 Course you will learn:

  • to write a short story

  • to write a letter in which you advise someone on a personal issue

  • to talk about the economy

  • to write a letter of complaint

  • to write a short text about friendship

  • to understand a discussion on how to spend

  • to buy and sell products on websites like Marktplaats.nl

  • to negotiate about the price of a product

  • to indicate in a polite manner that you don’t want to talk about something

  • to understand and discuss statistical information

  • to have discussions about social topics like economic developments

  • to have a discussion about art

  • to talk about a book, movie or a piece of art
